Camouflage Robes in the army: Paraphernalia for Priests

At the forum "Army-2020" church attributes for the clergy were presented. In particular, we are talking about camouflage-colored military field robes and other uniforms. In addition, military candles of green color were also presented.

The International Military and Technical Forum started on August 23 at the Patriot exhibition center of the Armed Forces in Kubinka near Moscow.

The exhibition featured new liturgical vestments for Orthodox chaplains: cassock, wagtail, epitrachil, scooter and handrails. All items are made of khaki-colored camouflage fabric and almost repeat the standards of sewing modern military uniform.

For the first time khaki vestments individually priests of the Russian Orthodox Church began to use in 2016 against the background of military confrontation in Donbass.

The Russian Orthodox Church did not approve camouflage robes.

The Russian Orthodox Church did not give its blessing to sew camouflage robes presented at the Army 2020 international military technical forum.

"Everything that is done must be done in accordance with the charter of the Russian Orthodox Church and in agreement with the Synodal Department for Relations with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies. This has not been done," said Bishop Stefan, head of the department.
